Lessons

“In addition to the graded classical guitar pieces, my son Jake is learning chords, strumming patterns, improvisation skills, and even the art of songwriting (both music and lyrics). This gave him the confidence to enter a songwriting competition. The great breadth of skills offered and taught means lessons are always fresh and interesting and are eagerly anticipated each week.”

The music lessons use a diverse range of teaching material, however we do also work alongside well-established syllabuses such as Trinity College LondonTrinity Rock & Pop, and Rockschool. The material chosen is excellent quality across all instruments, diverse, fun to learn and in many instances gives the student the opportunity to take UCAS recognised exams if desired.

“Thanks also for the excellent lessons and patience with Charlie, I know some weeks his concentration can be hit and miss, but he really enjoys his lessons with you and I’m really glad that he’s been able to continue them not only after Southrop but throughout Covid too. Teaching online can be challenging, but you’ve always been the perfect balance of fun and discipline in the lessons which is much appreciated”
