The 5 string banjo is a very impressive instrument and is yet another excellent option for the student who has started off with classical guitar. This instrument can be played as a solo instrument or as part of a large ensemble.
The instrument is traditionally taught using banjo tablature as opposed to music notation and the right-hand finger picking technique coupled together with the unique tuning of the instrument always delivers a very impressive performance.
It is an affordable and fun instrument for the older student. It can also be played as a strumming accompaniment. We offer backing tracks for both styles to make the practising more enjoyable.
