Adapting to this style has proven more successful by either having a spell learning classical guitar or by listening and having a good appreciation of rock and pop music.
A clear love and enthusiasm for this style is especially important as the lessons and demands of the syllabus extend far beyond simply strumming chords. The higher grades demand well-honed left-hand technique for which classical guitar training comes in very useful.
With a wide range of styles, we use both Trinity College Rock & Pop and Rockschool syllabus material which is graded up to Grade 8 as well as a wealth of exciting resources gathered over many years of teaching this instrument.
Students will learn the importance of playing in time by way of backing tracks which can be slowed down to suit each individual’s requirements to assist with progress. Customised tracks are created specifically for the student as part of the service.
This is a fantastic instrument for solo playing or becoming part of a band.
